New Pup!

I got a new CKC registered German Shepherd puppy!

His name is Polonus von Konkurrenz but we are calling him Kane. He's 11 weeks, I think he's going to be a monster.. his paws are huge!
Here are some pics!

This is his dad, Canadian Champion (CH) SG1 Bacco vom Fleischerheim OFA. Pedigree.

And his mom, Nice and Easy von Konkurrenz. Pedigree.

He's been so good so far, fairly easy to train and work with. We're really enjoying having him around.

I love German shepherds. I had one since she was month old (till she died at 13 yo). You are lucky to get one!

P.S. Just be careful with socializing the pup with other dogs till it turns at least 6 months. I noticed (from own experience as well as number of friend's experience) that GS are prone to pick all possible diseases. :(

Haha yep, this is my 6th purebred Shepherd. He went to the vet today for his complete checkup and all his shots, everything is in good working order. We prefer to have them well socialized because we had one that kind of came along at a busy time and we didn't socialize him near enough, and he ended up being the kind of dog that was very good and loyal to us, but you had to keep one eye on him at all times when anyone that wasn't me or my father was around. We ended up taking him to dog obedience at a year old and the instructor said that we had to show him who was boss gave him a good sharp yank on his choke chain, and the dog showed him every tooth in his head. He was promptly thrown out of dog obedience.
After about two years he was so well trained he would respond to whistles and body language. He would tolerate strangers if my dad or I was outside with him, but if we weren't he wouldn't let anyone out of their car.
We've never had one get sick as a puppy though. We did have one accidently hang herself though, and none of our dogs have worn collars since.
