    November 11

Here in the UK we honour those that have fallen in war on November 11 or/and the closest Sunday

This is to mark that on November 11 1918 at 11am the guns fell silent and marked the end of WW1

So I would just like to post that I honour those that have fought and died for my freedom.

Nutty, same with us Canadians. But Canada follows alot of the GB traditions.

I can't find a Poppy here in the states to save my life, whereas back home in Canada, they were everywhere for Rememberance Day.

I stand and salute those who fought bravely for us in WW1 and WW2, and those who fought in the Veitnam War and the Korean War.

    Thank you!

I think you mean the 11th, as that is Veteran's Day It also happens to fall one day after the Marine Corps Birthday (celebrated in this household as DH is an AD Marine).

Most VFW groups are out in force selling them this weekend in preparation of Veteran's Day. I always get two - and when DH is away I send his over to wherever he is that year.
I am curious, though, because you are so specific in the way you list them - why those wars, specifically and not others?

I usually get one at walmart or the grocery store. The VFW will be out in droves this week.

My dad, grandfather, brother, sister-in-law, uncle, and father-in-law are all veterans... I'm proud to honor them and all those who served.
