I've already said my piece on the slapping business. Again, I agree to disagree and am moving on.

HOOOOOOOORAY for jumping tonight!

He said to feel free to rub the fur off of 'em so I have gone in that direction and rub the neck/shoulder swiftly. Almost like you are trying to rub sand off of your skin. (if that makes any sence  )
I agree. I usually rub or pet them instead of slapping.

I haven't watched Olympians. I don't even know who act for Finland. Kyra Kyrklund (in dressage)?

I must have missed the 3-day eventing stuff, eh?
FTR, I was not debating with you but expressing my opinion. Agree to disagree sure, I'm all for that. IMHO, they were not "slapping" their horses but were patting them and due to the horses being extremely sweaty it sounded like slapping. Nuff said.

Actually Canada and the USA kicked the Germans butt.

Only two horses have had double clear rounds in show jumping.

Germany is woefully out of it.

They might be now. I typed that on the 13th I believe. :) The night before I had watched the group jumping & indvidual and the Germans have won. I have not had a chance to follow up on any of the other equestrian events. I'm very bummed about that but unfortantly I must be an adult & work. Great I'm glad to hear about the USA & Canada. Good JOB!!! Actually good job to all the equestrians from every country b/c to go that far I think is enough to be proud of!

That is most interesting as the show jumping did not even start until the 15th and these are only qualifers....not finals. So no one has "won" or kicked butt yet at all. Germany does not show up until the 26th place so far.

Just so anyone who may not be able to see results here is a list of ALL the euqestrian events and results to date.

Well then... I guess I appologize. I do know that I watched them win a gold in one of the Jumping events. I'd admit that I do not follow the stuff that close. So next time I guess I'll just keep my "trap" shut & not give congrats to anyone!

Your link is to the dressage events. But your first post referrs to horse JUMPING which is not dressage. Your thread title did not indicate this was just a dressage equestrian topic.

I just think it is nice to know that the Germans are NOT all powerful this year and their jumping team may not medal in this Olympics.

Nice to give other countries that have good horses credit too.

Thank you... for setting me straight. I would of never imagined dressage & jumping are different!
