Angry omg my wife's boss is a huge jerk!

For real, I just sent in a request to speak with his higher up about his behaviour. If only it wasn't Good Friday, I'd give them an earful right this moment!
This man is such a jerk that he made all but one of his assistant managers walk right out on him. He verbally abuses each and everyone one of his employees. I used to work for him, so no, I'm not just taking everyone's word for it.
Just now he told my wife that if she went home at her scheduled time he would fire her on the spot. Keep in mind she's already worked a 9 hour day and he plans to extend it to at least 11 hours, if not longer. Or fire her. This isn't the first time he's done this. He's made her work 12+ hour days on this same tired threat. He puts her on register for 5 hours straight and then screams at her that she didnt get to her department (across the store) and magically straighten it while on said register. She's had a customer physically attack her over a store policy and he stayed in his office watching it on his security camera until it was 'safe' to come out. He doesn't let her leave even when she's deathly ill or bleeding from a cut. He says 'You leave and you won't come back' every time.
And when we had a big ice storm and she called out he said 'I thought you were the man or something. Besides, didn't you come from MI? I should fire you for not coming in. I know you can drive in this'

If we didn't need the money from her job and could afford court costs I'd go in there and knock his teeth right out. That's how angry he makes me.

Why not look for a new job? Report this business to the authorities - your labor board - and get out.

Lookin for a new job but our area's unemployment rate is horrendous. We're possibly moving way up north in a few months anyhow.
I am making a corporate complaint about this manager, but I don't think there is anyone else we can report him to :(
