Has anyone else had a problem with OTHER horse forums????? (I love this one!!!!!!)

There are good ones and there are bad ones (bad..... referring to system outlay, members, mod team or just general topic choices) so not aiming in any one direction.

I belong to a few but will not post their name or URL in respect for Mike trying to build up this one.

Yep. Rude athmosphere is one of the most nastiest problem over some of them (also this one where I tend to discuss occasionally).

I love this one too. Everybody are so kind over here.

I'm kinda partial to this one  its the only one I still post on. I've come to think of so many of the members here as friends. I worry about them when they're sick and miss them when they don't log on. silly I know :oops:

I've been on a couple others and quit them. This is the only one I've found where people are tolerant of others views and no one seems to think they are "better" than anyone else. Sometimes, on the other boards, you could just $ee the difference and if you weren't in their league, well, basically you were told you shouldn't own a horse.

So, I'm here and only here. I love it. I learn a lot and people are forgiving of errors and open to new ideas.

Being a strictly pleasure/casual/recreational rider, I've been told that in other forums, too.

Nice discussions and sharing here from such a wide variety of folks, interests, and disciplines.

I belong to this one and one other, which is very intimate, a group that stemmed off of another that went entirely septic and we left it for somewhere nicer.
However I spend a majority of my time here... the people are lovely, the layout is awesome, and there's always something new to look at if you're bored hahah!
I find a lot of the boards lack moderaters to keep the 'wayward' members in check and that's when things turn bad.

I was a member of another horse forum before but left and now this is the only horse forum I generally use. Saying that I am a member of quite a lot of other forums but most of them are technology/gaming related.

Regards

Admin and the mods is what will make the difference. The only horse forum I go regularly on is this one. The other forums are all medical ones and the attitudes and views there are completely different but it is also for a different age group and educational background.

I think Mike is doing a great job.

I've been a member of many horse forums, but currently I'm only still one two, because this one and the other one that I'm a member of are soooo alike and I love both the forums and have many friends on both forums.

I try and spend the same amount of time on both horse forums I'm a member of, and I'm not the only member of this one who is also a member of the other one I'm on. Lol. Both communities are awesome, the people are very diverse and helpful and everything. I love both of the forums, but for different reasons.

This forum is more laid back and relaxed, the other forum is more... teaching and learning.

But I've also been a member of many, many forums that were completely immature and stuff...

i was a member to a different horse forum and i joined here at about the same time as the other one. it eventually got to the point where the admin would never sign on (maybe once every 2 weeks, or once a month) and he wouldnt do ANYTHING about the problems, besides ban them. i left and started posting on here more.

This is the only horse forum i use,the one i wanted to join before this one you had to have a referral.
I go to pc with some of the people but dont know them well,so im not going to bother asking if i can join there club.
Its an australian forum and is good with knowing the local events but whats the point if you cant even join.
Everyone here is so friendly, never read a nasty thing. Yet..lol
So i love this one,easy to use,and i already like the people:-p

I am an active member of another horse forum that has been so good to me over the last few years. The people there have really helped me in the past when I was having horse troubles. They gave me practical advise, as well as moral support. But sadly, the forum is slowly dying out. There's really just a small group of core members left. It will probably shut down sometime this year :( That makes me really sad.

I started looking for other horse forums to join and I found this one, along with a few others. I really like this forum, the atmosphere is very similar to my other forum. Everyone is so kind and understanding.

There were three other horse forums that I tried joining but they all had problems. One was made up of really biased members that were trying to push there way of doing things and would shun anyone that had slightly different opinions. One was just full of really rude members that made me feel like a little kid that didn't know anything. And another (bless um) was made up of members that averaged in ages between 13 and 16. I think I was the oldest member on there and I'm only 20. Don't get me wrong, I love talking with that age group because they have such enthusiasm for horses and help me remember why I started with horses. But I'm a young adult professional now and sometimes I just need to talk with adults.

So, yeah, I like it at Horse Forum and I'll probably be on here for a long time.
