Passports - rather annoying!

I got the forms off the internet to fill out for a passport - my there are a lot of things to fill out!! I'm going to have to do a lot of calling to see who will be my guarantor and then who I can put down as contacts who have known me for at least 2 years.

I'm going on a trip to Washington with my aunt, uncle, cousin and friend in May so I have got to get this done. I hope it won't be too late! Do any of you know how long and complicated the process is?

Also I understand you have to renew it every 5 years. Do you have to go through the same rigamarole every 5 years and is it $80 dollars each time? I nearly died when I saw how much it cost to get! lol!

A joy isn't it. When I became a Canadian citizen, I had to get my canadian passport. I remember it went rather smoothly but very expensive indeed. Hopefully by the time 10 years come around you wont remember how fun this experience was.
