The goofballs ruin it for sure.. but I love keeping in touch with people. Snail mail is good but takes too long being in NZ. I don't have a phone (hate them anyways... texting is so lame)

It definitely is very self-centered social media though. Which makes it kind of fun since I'm usually not all sharey-sharey

I think it does show a lot of maturity on your part. Good on you. I am not sure I could show that much restraint to the likes of some ill-mannered, ill-bred poop head! But, like they say - ignoring someone is the best revenge. You go!

I often find non-horsey people more supportive, too. It is strange. Go figure.

I think the best way to deal with this is to take it with a 'whatever' attitude. People just aren't man enough to do it to your face! So laugh at them, rub it in their faces that you are a bigger person than them, don't let them faze you one bit. :)

I deleted my facebook account and I don't miss it at all! I agree it CAN be a great way to keep in touch... but maybe I just know too many unpleasant people! ;)

I find I'm actually talking to some people (not all, but some) much more now than I used to when we were on facebook together. Email and even snail mail - it's lovely to open up your mailbox and see a card or a letter instead of just bills and junk mail!

Oh I agree, I used to handwrite to a lot of people :) Just they never write back and it's a quick "oh thanks" and that's it. So now it's only special people since it takes a lot of time to write the letter, then get a stamp, then find an envelope.. then hunt down their address. But yeah snail mail is lovely.

But being in NZ everything takes at least 2 weeks to clear :/

Good for you for taking the high road, sky. Ignoring the drama is the best way to rid your life of it. Once they figure out that you won't participate in their b.s. It will either stop or you'll have one less friend and who needs friends like that anyway?!
