This Place Needs an Area for Venting!

This is a second thread. I guess I have to get it through my head that different forums are in competition with each other. That is a strange feeling for me, I always see groups of horse people being interrelated. Guess I'm naive
Anyway I do want to see how many others have run into these kinds of difficulties dealing with people.
I am cleaning up my tack room and have been trying to sell some things. A woman from far enough away to require shipping, was interested in a saddle blanket and a bit. I had issues learning the ins and outs of shipping! I considered that just education. I finally get the final shipping price, just to get a different address from the woman! That meant another 12 mile round trip to the PO. After all that, I send the woman the final total to never hear from her again.
I am also offering a pony free to a good home. I would be doing research and checking references. Anyway, I was contacted by a young woman within 20 miles of my home. We exchange emails and everything is wonderful. I finally say that she has got to come out and met him (pony). I have given her my phone number and ask her to call me. She dissapeared. Not a word. Nothing.
Im getting worried about how long this is. Let me continue in a reply.

Sorry this is so long, I'm almost done!
So, I even sent her an email saying that if she had changed her mind, I understood, I would just like to know. Not a word. I've seen her posting on facebook, so she's alive and well, just rude.
Has rude become the norm? Is there no courtesy left?
I do bet many of you have similar stories!

OMG! I left out the last bit of nonsense. I got a message asking if I still have the pony. I responded yes, gave my phone number and said to call. I don't want another penpal! I made sure to have my phone close by as I went out and did chores. I came in to find another message. She said she lives near Topeka and do I have a way to haul. She wants me to deliver her free pony. I checked and Topeka is 165 miles away from my house. The ad I have out includes my general location.

Sounds like normal experiences to be honest!

For the shipping, A pair of scales and a ruler, an online postage calculator and you are good, no need to leave the house, or eve do the final packing until you have the cash.

For selling, leasing horses, there are always people who disappear on you, yes it is rude, but those are probably the timewasters anyway.

And yes you are more than a little naive if you don't understand that the horse boards are all in competition, at the base line it is a business, cash in pocket for someone.

Yes. As a general rule, people suck until they prove that they don't :)
