Please don't touch my belly!

So all you ladies that have had babies know how it is. Suddenly, when you are pregnant, people want to touch your stomach-without asking.

WHY???? I've managed to avoid most of it, only one client did it when I first started showing, and my brother in laws have both done it. I don't even hug these guys, so WHY is it okay to touch my pregnant belly if they wouldn't normally touch me? GAAAH. Or at least ask instead of just touching...when in the heck did it become public property? I don't go up and touch them...and I know there's a baby in there...but you don' t actually touch the baby-that's my stomach you're groping... I noticed they don't do it when Hubby is there. Hmmph.

Just wanted to gripe. I'm not a touchy feely person, and that's a little personal.

I agree. Drove me nuts. I would either step away when someone reached out or, if I really didn't like the person, I would flat out tell them to leave off! However, I really don't get the whole "kootchy-kootchy-koo" baby thing either... I'm just glad it's over for me!

I totally know how you feel! I used to get so upset when people would touch my belly. I have to say my Mom and Mother in law were the worst!

That's funny. I have heard so many people say that. I don't really know but I find it's funny. I would get a shirt done that says something along the lines of not touching you or they will get shot.

I am sure there is something out like that already because you arent the only one.

I don't have a child (thank god, only 14!) but me and my mum were in town a few weeks ago and my mum ran into an old schoolfriend of my 12-year older sister and she was 5 months along and my mum started touching her belly and I pocked my mum in the ribs haha :P
I said to my mum: 'You could just ask instead of grabbing her! It's so rude.'

ps: Congrats!
