Please help, car custody question

Okay. So my fiance broke up with me a week ago. Then two days ago he told me he was taking the car back. He co-signed for the lease a year ago. Both our names are on the lease, insurance and registration. Can he legally just come get it? I told him I would give it to him monday when I can get a different car registered and insured, but he said he was taking it tonight. I need the car to get to work tomorrow. Legally we both own it.

I would not give the ex the keys/car till I was no longer financially responsible for it. Make sure you can get out of the lease and they can take it over first...other wise it is a no go!

He's already got the spare key. I could lock it in the garage, but I don't want him to call the police on me. We are both on title, registration and insurance, so I would think if he could get the car from me, I would be able to take the car from him too...equal rights

Correct me if I am wrong, but ownership if the car would be a civil matter. If he brought the police to get the car, I don't thinknk they could make you give it to him. Put it in the garae and tell him to take you to court and buy your half if he wants it.
