possibly my new puppy :)

since i have finsihed my commitment at the pit bull shelter for last year i am deciding it is time to get my own dog and actually have dog dates with my friends instead of being anti social and working with aggressive dogs. :) i am soo excited to get my first dog of my own, its really a whole new excitement after horseownership for me :)

i am try to adopt this little girl ... border collie/brittany spaniel mix named diamond only 6 weeks as of now so will have to wait another 2 weeks before i get her.. but they are just doing a final check hopefully will hear on monday if she can be mine or not ... i hope its a yes!!! cross your fingers everyone

ps.. perfect hunting dog project, perfect lapdog project, perfect barn /farm dog, perfect trail dog , maybe even search and rescue project or therapy dog project... so so many ideas.. haven't had a nice dog in such a long time i will take full advantage of this hopefully she likes my ideas :)

Awww, puppy cuteness! Good luck and hope it all works out!

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, Capture the good times, Develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, Take another shot.

Very cute pup and good luck, i hope everything works out. I just want to ask for clarification, but does the shelter you work at only take in agreesive pit bulls or are you referring to all pits as "agressive dogs"? I assume working in a shelter with them, you would know the breed but I could be misinterpreting it as something its not. Would you mind elaborating?

sorry letagrlshowu didn't clarify it is predominantly a pit shelter but they take in other dogs as well. as of december they had 25 rescued pits from fight rings, 10 labs from fight rings, and some mixed breeds and so forth and afew smaller breeds who were bait dogs. but they work closely with cities or areas with dog fighting. and they will work on retraining them in hopes to find them a living environment that best suits them. some actually become dog friendly. its amazing to watch... sorry i didn't clarify that... i do not think any breed is born mean i think a specific dog can be born mean but with the right environment can be worked with and handled. :)

my job was specifically retraining and working with the aggressive pits when they first came in. i actually only worked with the pits :) i loved there attitude of always wanting to please and i turned it around into something positive... i surprising had good results and adoptions for some i worked with... its just you couldn't take them to dog parks bc they are still techincally dog aggressive and we didn't want to take risks ofbeing fully dog friendly... they could easily feel attacked.. so it became an isolation thing when working with them :)
hope that helped :)

There is NOTHING as adorable as a puppy!!!! **Corporal...melts**
Here is my now 4yo girl that I took after a January, 2008 horse auction was over, and NOBODY had taken ANY of the 8 week old puppies.
Yes, I was driving when I snapped this shot! =b
Here is my DH, who is affectionately known as "King Pig". The dog's name is "Pygma", or "Baby Pyg", so the 2 of them on our DD's college bed are "2 Pigs in a Bed."
She is SUCH a velcro dog!! D'awww!!

Pit bulls could also be all those dogs. Except for hunting you'd probably have to switch to hogs. Lol.

I know my boy (he's 12weeks as of yesterday) is most definitely a lap dog. :p

I'm glad you clarified because, I was about to write a very heart felt post about Pit bulls, and bully breeds.

It's something you need almost like air or water. ♥
