A saddle arrived in the mail today from the US and the box was a shambles. I highly doubt it was sent in this condition. The seller (Drifting from HP) had wisely put my name and address in multiple places in case this happened. Never in twenty years of shipping or receiving saddles has the box arrived in this deplorable condition. It looks like someone took a knife to it in a few places. One corner was royally bashed in so I'll have to check to see that the tree is ok. Other than that the saddle is fine.

I get a lot of parts via UPS/Fedex for work. I can't even begin to list how many times I've recieved badly mangled boxes. Luckily parts are usually packed well enough that they are rarely damaged.

I'd only be mad if the saddle was damaged.

I worked in a computer lab while in college. As this was in the "stone ages", information was disseminated to hospitals, labs and the like via large reel tapes. When they were done with them, they would ship the tapes back to us and whenever someone had a free minute or two, we would unpack and throw them back on a rack to be re-used.

Destroyed boxes were pretty normal, large quantities of packages went missing and sometimes the "contents" would end up being sent to us. We got back tapes that looked like the UPS guy ran them over multiple times, wet tape reels that appeared to have gone for a swim in the ocean, tape reels that were no longer a reel but just a pile of wadded up tape. We had a contest going for a while for who unpacked the worst mess each month.

As long as the saddle is fine, be happy you got it and it arrived in good condition even though it's packaging did not.
