You can do whatever you want.

Personally? I've been married 16 years and while I would marry him again in a heartbeat, there is NO way I would ever have another wedding.

    Lets see...
My mom and aunt got into a fistfight over how I was going to wear my veil.
The wedding cake fell apart the night before (it was fixed but ugh.. that stress..).
A stripper attended our reception (very long story as to how a stripper was in attendance with an Elder from my parents church).
The wrong car was decorated during the reception.
My grandfather flat-out refused attend which led to a huge family fight
My father had a tantrum because we wanted bagpipes and he thinks bagpipes are for funerals not weddings.
Oh I could go on and on.....

And my pictures? Well it's been 16 years and I have yet to ever see one of them.

Weddings aren't all that they're cracked up to be. Especially since when my kids haul out the photo album of pictures I do have (everyone mailed me the snapshots they took) all they do is giggle, point and ridicule what the fashion at the time was. /sigh

I second the pinterest idea! I'm planning a wedding currently and have found SOOOO many great cost saving ideas on there. We're doing a more DIY wedding to save money and it's been a great resource imo. ;)

I have never been married - far to selfish to give up my independence - but have seen many weddings where thousands of pounds were spent and it all went bottoms up for a variety of reasons.
I will admit I like to sound of Delfina's day - at least she can look back and probably have a good laugh about it all!

You can have a 'Big Day' but I bet that no picture taken at that event will bring such a radiant smile to your face or more sparkle and love to your eyes.

You look beautiful in those pictures and the love you both have for each other shows.

May you both forever be happy and God give you the ability to laugh together through thick and thin.
