San Antonio ?

So I am seriously considering moving here within the next year. It has a college I'm interested in, I've found a few places that will accept our pets and with luck I can possibly get back into riding easier there.

I've considered Colorado ( have a friend out there), arizona( my dad lives here) and a school in Los Angeles area however none have stuck. I've always had texas int head. I have a friend who moved to Houston a few years ago and loves it, also the girl who did my tattoo told me tons about Dallas where she lives. I haven't heard many bad things about Texas. So id like to hear from you guys. I know I asked this before but that was before I decided on a place.

At one time San Antonio was pretty rough, but the World's Fair in 1968 began a big turnaround, and Henry Cisneros took the city a long way in his 8 years as mayor beginning in 1981. IMO San Antonio is a great place to live - hill country with canoeing and outdoor stuff just to the north, and loads of trailriding just to the west. Nice zoo, nice riverwalk area, but holy moly, it is definitely a big city...and it is definitely hot - as in hot - as in really really hot...

Haha, I live about an hour and a half from San Antonio (suburbs of Houston) and I'll have to agree with HOT and HUMID, but it really is a great place to live. I don't hear a whole lot about the horse community in SA though so I really can't tell you much about that. What college are you looking at?

Well I live in outside of San Angelo, like 2 or 3 hours away from San Antonio... been there a couple times and I can't say I would want to live there, I like the more 'small town' feel oh Angelo and the outlying towns... I do have a friend though that had his truck stolen in San Antonio when he was in eating somewhere haha, guess it depends on the part of San Antonio you're looking into. I can tell you it's going to be HOT HOT HOT though..

I'm looking at palo alto. However if you guys have any other ideas I'd be open. To be honest I'd move out to Texas even without college in mind. I just can't figure out where since I don't know anyone out there haha.
