I have surgery early in the morning and I can't sleep. I have had numerous surgeries in my 18 years but every single time I get nervous. It is a simple surgery but I hate getting put to sleep.. I hate it!! :(
I have had surgery twice, on for tonseles, and the opther for apendixs. I don't like getting put to sleep either, so I know how you feel. I guess its really a personal thing, there isnt really a tip that can stop this, but just breeth through you nose and out through your mouth, and smile :)
You are in my thoughts! I hope everything goes well. I've had 4 surgeries in my life..the first I was too young to really understand much so I don't think I was scared at all, but the second one was when I had to have my first ACL reconstructed. I was SO scared. I cried for like 2 days after he said I needed to have surgery. I kept saying no so he gave us a couple of days to "think" about it (give my mom time to convince me). I was terrified going in but everything turned out just fine, so since then I've been okay about it them. I still get a bit anxious going in, but I'm not terrified like I was. Just think positive thoughts and before you know it everything will be over!
I've never had any surgery too but I admit if I had undergo one I'd very probably need something sedative right after I knew I about it
My piece of advice...? Take some deep breaths and try to look on the bright side. I'm sure they try to fix something with that surgery. The operation doesn't last forever, you're soon out and feel well. Might better than before that surgery.
