Scary aircraft landings

Looks at these sketchy landings, lots of wind. Gives a new perspective on flying.

Yeeeek!!! Scary stuff. At least in the first video if they weren't going to land well, they pulled back up.
As for the last video - yikes.. all I can say is Whiplash!!!
I was on a plane to Ontario this past summer that tried to land 4 times, failed each time, and we ended up getting rerouted. That was nerve-racking!

That was one of the secrets about the B-52 bomber.
The landing gear swiveled. The plane could be at a 45degree angle
To the runway and the landing gear would be lined up straight with the
Runway. The plane would actually land at an angle and still go straight down the runway.

This would not work with commercial aircraft because the landing gear
Is like a tricycle. The main landing gear on a B-52 is under the fuselage

That is some scary stuff eh! When we landed in LA our plan at about 800m off the ground lifted straight back up due to tower conflicts with another plane that had been missed. Tho it was nothing like the movies, still a very scary thing when it's not meant to happen.
