Gaaaaa....so glad you are safe. So glad you went to the sheriff's office. There are lots of freaky people rolling around.

I do not have a handgun - hubby has several. Two of my friends are packing so serious heat. I am a cake decorator and we were going to a cake show/classes in Austin and hubby was all worried and said be careful blah blah blah. I said "Are you serious? Betty may look like Betty Crocker but she is carrying a 38 revolver and Jacque is carrying a 44 - her hubby teaches the gun classes. Both of them can shoot like nobodies business...we are as safe as I can be".

The barn owners where I board are long time hunters and competitive shooters. Ms. Jean may be nearly 79 years old but she was all American champion 8 times. LOL I think I am safe at the barn. But dang...I may have to get a gun myself.

I thought about that, but I've seen too many sprayings gone wrong. Is be afraid in the heat of trying to use it, I would accidentally spray myself, or if it was windy, I would spray myself as well. If they are close enough to get them good with spray, they are close enough to use a knife.

A buddy of mine, lived in Syrmna and worked in Lavergne....second shift.

This was several years ago, before direct deposit, and he got his paycheck one night, had some bills due and after he got home he decided to go back out and deposit the check at an ATM.

He pulled onto the road and a car came up from behind and started bumping him. He raced through the 35mph zone hoping he'd get pulled over but didn't. So he pulled into the police department and him and the guy that was bumping him raced through the parking lot....him blowing his horn and slinging gravel....yep, it was a gravel parking lot....finally got a half a building in front of the other guy and slid the car to a stop, got out and ran inside....to tell a cop that there was someone out there trying to kill him....

So, the other guy came inside and told the cop my friend had broken into his garage. They put my buddy in jail and told the guy to go home and see what was stolen. He came back an hour or so later and told them nothing was missing.

Come to find out, the guy was a baptist minister and one of his parishioners had bought some strawberries and as it was late and didn't want to wake anyone up, stopped and put some strawberries in his freezer. The minister heard him and when he got outside my buddy was driving by.

My buddy had the minister charged with attempted murder. A few days later the minister stopped by his house and apologized...asked him to drop the charges.

My buddy told him " Normally I carry a .380 to the bank when I go this late. Why I didn't have it with me I don't know, but how would I explain killing a baptist minister on the side of a road in the middle of the night.?"

My buddy spent the night in jail and let me tell you he was one pissed off country boy.

He dropped the charges a few weeks later but think about this......

Things are not always as they appear.

Things may bot always be as appeared. But thus person had no reason to follow me an hour away, and stop when I pulled into the sheriffs office. If it was that important, he would have got out if his car and said something. Also I doubt he would have did a uue in the liquor store parking lit like he was trying to hide, then come find me. Either way, I bought a gun today, and am signing up for the next carry class, cause I refuse to be a victim lol.

Guns sales are through the roof right now.....seems a lot of people don't want to be victims. No doubt the guy was creepy.....my intention was to make the point that a series of events can occur that we don't foresee which could lead to a serious problem that might be hard to explain after the fact.

There was a post a few weeks ago regarding handguns and ladies...So, what's a young lady buying these days in the way of handguns?

I see we're in the same state, are you from the east Tennessee area?
