She scared me!
I was really late getting home tonight so it was after 9pm before I fed. First I had to take care of the cats and the kittens because I do not have the patience for them. They wrap around my legs and get under my feet and squall until I open not one, but 3 or 4 cans of food. So they get fed first.
I feed everyone in the same order everyday so I went into Pistols stall and fed him, put up his stall guard on the pasture side then fed Riley in the stall next door. Blue comes next (he's over the fence with a hanging bucket. After that I feed the girls, usually I go out into the paddock and feed them in their hanging buckets on the fence but since it was so late I fed them in their tubs right outside the sliding doors. I left the doors open about a person size because I still had to get them their hay but I got side tracked with the rake. I was busy putting a cute little herring bone design in the dirt aisle floor when this huge shadow came over me and then I heard this loud crash. I turned to look and saw this object looming towards me. I screamed louder then I have screamed in a very long time and I ran in place! I had the rake in one hand and I was running in place, lifting my knees almost to my chest and I think I might have peed a little before I realized it was NOT the creature from jeepers creepers but just a horse.
Poor Sierra didn't know what was going on. I don't think I've ever raised my voice around her and I'm pretty sure she thought I was looking at something behind her because she leaped over the hay bale with her tail tucked under her leg and her butt sucked down deep like something was going to attack her. She spun around like a quarter horse (she's a TWH) and landed with her front legs wide apart and her eyes rolling. That's about the time she realized I'm an idiot too because she swiveled her head towards me and I could almost swear she shrugged before wandering up and down the aisle looking for whatever treats may lay in the empty stalls.
I finished up my pretty design before throwing hay out to the horses and then tossing Sierra back into the paddocks... Now I just have to change the paddocks out in the morning while searching the woods for walkers... I think my imagination might be a little on the vivid side.....

Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin knees get lazy
And love like crazy"
