the sick bug is going around

With winter brings on illness... My BF came home from work yesterday with a sore throat and cough... this morning he had a 102F temp . He wanted to go to work but I demanded that he stayed home (if you have sick pay you should use it when you are in fact sick...) Last winter he gave himself pneumonia after going to work while really sick (he was working 8 hours on one job and then 4 hours outside at Menards). Atleast he isnt throwing up or anything. I just called him a little bit ago and he said he really isnt feeling any better though.

A co-workers son also went down with some sort of virus- the doc said it is something that is going around and to just stay hydrated. Some other guys at work come on sick too... I HATE it since I don't want to get sick.

Anyone else having problems in their areas?

It seems that there are very stubborn virus(es) over here at the moment. My mom was on/off sick almost all the autumn and told that some of her coworkers were too (she works at a daycare center and you know that if there are herds of kids there are also herds of viruses).

Ok everyone...all of these bugs going around are viruses. Viruses are 'housed' in protein.
We use digestive aids (like Papaya Enzymes) to break down this protein shell. No shell...no live the virus!
But...you gotta do this RIGHT AWAY...at the first cough, sniffle, scratchy throat....(Dude even has his own supply at work...)
Won't help once the virus has taken over.
Been working here for 3 years now....

Yeah, a lot of people are sick here too. They've been sick for almost an entire week too.

That's interesting piece of knowledge. I've heard that you can prevent a stomach flu if you eat lemon or pepper (black pepper? I'm not sure about the breed of pepper) when you get your first symptoms. I haven't tested this myself so I can't comfirm it.

    Digestive aids, LOL

An ex-lax brownie does the same thing. Shoots that protein covered virus right out.

This nasty stomach virus is going around here. It's so bad they did a news segment on it. It doesn't respond to any medications or intervention. The hospitals are begging people to stay home, don't come to the ER, more people are being exposed to it. You just have to wait it out, while getting cozy on the toilet with your head hanging over a bucket. Now THAT stinks.
