    Suggestions for Selling Photography

Alright, so, question is in the title. All you photographers out there able to give me suggestions on selling photography/commissioning and selling photos on stock websites?
I have an insane amount of high quality images I've taken, and I'd love to have suggestions/ideas on how to get my name out there for sales. As of right now I cannot afford to print photos out, or have the printer to do such, so I'm trying to come up with any ideas.
I already have a Deviant Art account, however I hate how little they pay for sales to the user, so if you know of any reliable stock sites to sell to, I'd appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance!

Have you thought about selling them through iStockPhoto?

How To Contribute and Sell Stock Photos And Images | iStockphoto.com

While iStockPhoto is a big player in the stock images market and we buy all of our images through them, they don't pay as well as Corbis or Getty Images. The problem is getting picked up by Corbis or Getty... that's a whole different challenge in itself. :(

I've looked but they're so picky about what they will accept for selling. -__- I've got a ton of action shots, animals, people, scenery. As well as a few photos with large companies in them, which I cannot use for them.

I actually contacted RE/MAX yesterday about a photo I had quite a few people tell me was very professional and that they might want to use for advertising purposes.

The thing is, I'd love to go about selling locally too, I just have no idea how to do that. I can sell prints through the computer, but I have no means for printing.

Short of buying a really good and expensive printer have you thought about using something like the Walmart Photo Lab? I've used them for some prints and found the prices to be extremely cheap and the quality was better than I expected. :)

I've been thinking of such, but I need to sell some photos or get a commission or some sort of photo sale before I can. I'm trying to kick off a career/job while being broke...

Understandable. What other stock photo sites have you looked into?

I've looked into these through ehow. Besides that, not sure where to look.

You've listed pretty much every mainstream stock photo site. Have you applied to any of them or do you not meet the requirements for all?

Well, most of the sites discouraged from submitting flowers and greenery, as it is a very popular subject. As well as most of my images have either people, or companies in them, or aren't for a wide audience, and that seems to cause a problem.

I'm still looking for suggestions on how to get started with photography locally.
