My feelings exactly. I have been trying to wean myself down from HF a bit. I spend too much time here, and in the meantime REAL physical life is going by. I am impressed that you can see what you need to do and have the willingness to give it a go. You inspire me.

Thanks so much for doing that for me, Evil- its much appreciated! I can send you my email if that helps.

Failbhe- a friend or two of mine have also done that, and said its very liberating. You start caring less what people think of you and actually work to have relationships outside of the computer. As of right now I'm not going to delete my account, but I will be having a trusted friend change the password and not tell me what it is until the time is up, so that I'm not tempted. Hopefully it will teach me a lesson xD

Thank you Paradise! I really think this is going to help both my mental and physical health. Its not like I'm not learning on here, but I am sacrificing things that I shouldnt be for this.

Kait18, thank you!

For those of you who mentioned that you ought to do the same (TexasGal and Tiny!) I encourage you to try it- if not for the duration of time that I am (because I admit, 8+ weeks sounds painful to me xD I'm going to do it though!) then maybe even for just a week. I've done week long 'cleanses' before and it really helps you prioritize and realize just how much time you spend on the computer.

Every once in a while I would do a "radio silence" weekend (at least, that's what I called it) where I wouldn't even touch my computer, I would turn off my cell phone (people knew to call our land line if it was something very important) and I wouldn't turn on the tv. It drove me crazy at first but I really came to enjoy them.

Best wishes, Endiku! :)

that's fantastic Failbhe! I still havent decided if I'm going to do anything about the radio and television yet. I rely on music a lot to keep me un-frustrated while working on homework and it helps me tune everything out and concentrate, so I will most likely keep it. As for a cell phone, I stopped paying for texting and only take calls when I need to long ago because I've seen how it rules your life! O.o

Hope it's not too late, but here's an Excel list of dishes with possibly problematic ingredients highlighted so you can filter out any dishes you can't eat. Let me know which ones you're keen on and I can give you the recipes (haven't written them all up). I can do them all in one go so you don't have to keep coming online

Good luck! Sometime we need a change in life. Definitely will miss you here.
