Things to do on long flights

I'm looking for some good ideas of things to do on long flights.

I have the usual: books, sudoku, logic puzzles... am thinking about getting a little handheld video game of some sort.
But this flight is 17 hours long. Even as much as I love to read, I'm going to be sick of it by the end.

Any good ideas to kill time in cramped spaces?

Many flights are getting wifi now if you have a laptop, I always take my iPhone for the music and games. I would bring a couple different books that way if you're tired of one you could switch. Sleeping would be good too if you could manage (I can't sleep on planes usually :p ) coloring books are totally little kidish but I'm 19 and still like to color so I would or at least doodle haha.

I will probably have at least 20 books, lol (I have a Sony Reader, so I can just load up a bunch).

I won't have my laptop, and don't want to run my Blackberry onboard because I'm not sure how many opportunities I'll have for charging it back up when I arrive (we'll be staying at a facility without electricity except occasional generator use), and I want to make sure it's available in an emergency.

However, I actually really like the coloring book idea!! That's a nice "brainless" activity for those times when I'm too tired to think but not comfortable enough to sleep. I'll have to see what I can find.

Who are you flying with?

The in flight entertainment is pretty awesome these days with games, movies, etc.

South African Airways. I've seen mixed reviews about their in-flight entertainment. Seems some are modern, and others are out of date. But I can't find anything to indicate which flights are which, so I won't know until I board.

Hmm. Do you know what type of plane you are flying on? I thought that they just had a remodel but I could be wrong.

Im flying with Air Pacific (fiji) and am having the same results. I was thinking of bringing one of those little portable DVD players
