They only just started participating here within the last few years - I will never forget the first time I called someplace across the state line (ie on the other side of the bridge, since we live on the state line, lol) and had asked what their hours were or something and the person at the other end says, "Are you on fast time or slow time?" and I was completely lost as to what the hell she was talking about. And the fun of trying to keep my poor mother on track with the time difference between where we live and where she is - it's hard when for half the year there is 3 hours and the other half there were 4.

I wish we'd just adopt daylight savings time and stick with it. I really like getting out of work and having some daylight to do things outside. Right now it's dark by 6:30 and it's going to get worse before it gets better. All daylight in the morning does is remind me of how nice and bright it is outside while I'm indoors working. ::::grumble, grumble, grumble:::::

Yes! I was much happier leaving for work in the dark and having it still light when I head home. I take a bus, and I work in a sketchy area. Walking sketchy area in the dark after work [530] because some bozo wanted to play at god? Not cool.

Guys we're on "normal" time now. Before it was daylight savings. Personally I wish they would just get rid of DST and just leave it the hell alone. They keep making the switch earlier and earlier in the spring and later and later in the fall. It's ridiculous.

I hate dst. Getting dark at 6 pm is awful. Yesterday we fixed fence by headlights at 6:30 pm, what kind of dumb garbage is that?! My hubby can't hunt during the week after work now and can only go on the weekends - he's not too happy about it and I'm not either, I want more venison in my freezer.

There is one positive though with getting dark earlier, my kiddo is going to bed earlier - therefore I can go to bed earlier ;)

5pm sundown is awful. At least when the sun went down at 6 I had enough time to get in a good ride with natural light!

We should petition to cancel the time change. How is it better to start the day later when sunlight is limited and many people work and have their fun time after work?

MHFQ -- then you don't hate DST, you hate normal time. That's the time we are on now. DST is when it stays lighter longer in the evening.

There was a poll on a news site that I subscribe to. The poll asked how many people wanted to stop doing the time change. I don't remember the exact number, but over 70% of the respondents said they wanted it to stop.

Ah, either way I hate having to change the clock and working in the dark. We should just pick a time and stick with it.

Though I will say this time around we timed it well, we changed time when we were driving home from FL, it was nice gaining the hour...just for that day though lol.
