And many homes in our community, I"m so very sad.
As a 4Her (a Cloverbud and Junior parent) we are working on collecting for the people who lost their homes, as a scouter (I have a Boy Scout and am organization head) we are working on cleaning the massive green debris out and getting camp possible.
This camp is owned by a scout parent who for 13 years has allowed us to use it for free. A massive effort has been put together to clean it back up. We went up with our commercial skid steer yesterday and piled downed trees and debris in a pile larger than 1/4 of an acre. There were at least 150 trees downed, our pavilions destroyed, picnic tables destroyed, the water equipment and everything is gone. Poor Jimbo (the owner of the land) has cried and cried, as have us scouters, but the scouting spirit is strong.
Here is a link to a news article, and actually, the young boy in the video with the hat on is my son, my beautiful boy.
