Unhappy Trying to Figure out the Housing market

So my boyfriend has been trying to buy a house. He has all of the financial ducks in a row so now is the time to find the house. One would think it wouldnt be too hard in this current market right? WRONG!!!!

He has put offers on 5 houses so far and it is just crazy... 3 of the offers were asking price (newbies at and 2 of the offers were 10 thousand over and 14 thousand over and he is still getting beat out. Cash is king and that is what people are pulling out right now (I would like to know where they are getting it from!!!) Bank owned homes that are in decent shape and listed under 150K are having offers thrown on them and accepted within 3 days- not to mention that the lowest number of offers on one house that he has bid on is 5 (one had 9)...

I just hope he finds/gets a place soon, he is getting really crabby about everything and it is making my life tough to deal with his moods!!!! I know that rushing in and buying a house isnt the way to do it either (done much homework and many things)... but at the same time oue townhome that we are renting is up for sale so we are maybe sitting on borrowed time (with even having a place to live). Also the garages that we are finding are just too small for my truck. You wouldnt think that 19.5 ft would be that hard to find... many are cut at 18.6-19.00. What fun times!!!!!

It's not the will to win, but the will to prepare to win that makes the difference.

Unfortunately I haven't any pieces of advice to give you. I still came here because I want to wish good luck! Hopefully your boyfriend will find and buy a house soon .
