Angry Ugh, really?

Really people? The past couple months have been crappy enough, and now you're putting a marijuana mall (and it ain't going to be for medicinal purposes, either) RIGHT BASICALLY ON MY HOUSE?!? Ugh! It takes up the only field I can ride in, leaving Annie in a tiny field that's all uphill, and now I can never bring Brandy home, and I'd be too scared to let Diesel out! And on top of it all, I'm going to have tweakers all around my house. (Sorry if that offends anyone). And they can't put it in town because "town is family oriented"
REALLY?!? And my house isn't?!? We have family come over CONSTANTLY! Now I doubt people will want to come over, and I doubt my friends will be allowed over! Plus, there is one like maybe 15 minutes away from us, why not just go there?
Wow, so glad they legalized marijuana in my state!
Welp, my week sucks, how bout yours?

To whom does the field belong? If it's legal to grow marijuana the landowner has every right to do so as long as he/she has the proper permits. I imagine it's not just going to be out there for everyone and sundry to take. Pretty sure they'll have some sort of security so people don't just steal their crop.

As far as what 'tweakers' are I have no clue, and your second paragraph makes no sense at all. WHAT is '15 minutes away' from you?

Plus, what does a landowner growing a legal crop have to do with your friends and family coming over to your house, or you being afraid to bring horses home? Generally, marijuana smokers are pretty mellow folks. It's the people who abuse other drugs who are dangerous.

Typical NIMBY attitude.

No matter where you live you are going to have to deal with your neighbors possibly doing something you don't like with their land. Really, having an agricultural field next to your property is far from the worst thing they could do.

Marijuana is legal in Washington State. You'll have to deal with it or move to a state where it isn't.

If you kept your horses on someone else's property and are now complaining about not being able to use it for pasture or riding anymore, you need to grow up.

Tweakers are crystal meth addicts. Marijuana is an herb with proven medicinal properties. I doubt you will have any addicts hanging about in your neighborhood looking to harm your horses. Relax.

So tweakers are people who are whacked out on meth, and the OP thinks they're going to be hanging around a marijuana field?

Hysterical hyperbole there much, OP?

It's really not even likely that she'd get stoners hanging around her house. They buy it and go elsewhere to smoke it.

Unless she plans to set up a free special brownies stand by her house, I think she's safe.

You might just have MORE people wanting to come visit.......

I have no idea how you know what they are using it for....but if you rely on someone else's land to ride, that is not their fault. Nor is it their fault that you now do not have enough suitable land (that YOU feel is suitable) to have another horse, etc.......perhaps you need to get your own place. And even in another state where MJ is not legal, your neighbors may just be growing it amongst the corn. I say relax or move. Your choice.

The place where they grow is not likely to be the place where people will smoke it. That's something people often choose to do in the comfort of their own home. XD

I certainly don't partake, but it's legal where I'm from and I have many friends that do... Let me just say, it's really not that bad. OP, though I get how it could be frustrating, I think you're over-reacting a bit.

Not among the corn, but in a vacant acreage across from my and another neighbor's property. I wondered why there would be vehicles in that acreage at odd hours of the day and night, especially since nobody lived on the land. Once the helicopters and the cop cars showed up, we got our answer!

Honestly, they were quiet and didn't cause any trouble, it's just that growing marijuana (and smoking it) is illegal in VA. I'm more afraid of drunk drivers than I am of marijuana smokers. Those guys tend to stay put once they've had a doobie or two!

I would say that you cannot be sure for what purpose they are growing it for, but there is no need to have a concern about someone coming over and messing with your horses. It may offend some people for you using the term 'tweaker' above marijuana, since most people that smoke are not addict. Its not going to draw it meth addicts and coke heads to the field. I am sure they will grow it peacefully and leave you and your horses alone. They will grow it, tend to it, harvest it and take it elsewhere when the harvest is complete.
