That's great! No clue on the big cats. Forgot to add my favorite thing to do in FL, if you are a bargain hunter like me -goodwill shopping! Sarasota has dozens & we scored big. Whole summer wardrobe for all of us, spent under 200 bucks. I even got 2 pairs of citizens for humanity jeans still with tags on and a brand new pair of Callaway golf shoes (8 bucks, tag on them for 150) :)

They let us pet the bob cat when I was visiting. One of the most amazing experiences in my life (although I was the only one brave enough to play with it). It was SO gentle, and poles are as big as my palms! The funny thing when we walked in the cat peed all over the guide! Didn't like him I guess...

The big cat rescue is now on the list!

Do we fly into that island?

You park on the mainland and leave your vehicle in a gated lot. They have big wagons to carry your stuff & they take you across on a ferry. It's a large pontoon, takes about 5 minutes across the bay by boat. The ferry runs hourly until 11 I think, but there are water taxis if you need to get back for an emergency or miss the ferry...taxi is expensive but the ferry was free. I think we only had one ferry trip where we didn't have dolphins swim next to the boat :)
