To be honest I hate giving cards and gifts so don't typically buy them. She doesn't like getting gifts, only gift cards which is a bit silly for me to give her. So I got lucky there.

I did used to always buy her roses on V day and randomly flowers through the year. Unfortunately she sometimes complained about what she got. After 3x in a row of complaints with the final one being on V day with flowers I had delivered to work (to the tune of $70), she was told since she didn't like what she got she could go get her own from now on. It's now been 7 years since I bought her any flowers and I'm not likely to start again any time soon. So you can label me as not being romantic but I was making an effort with the flowers until she blew it for herself. If she complains about not getting flowers I just remind her why that is.

Well, Darrin, who needs roses, anyway!

I can't imagine not enjoying flowers. But, then, I get really excited over flowers and presents - but DH is not very demonstrative. So, if I give him something I can't "tell" if he is super happy, or unimpressed. Ugh. I have to be the romantic for the both of us. He gets me stuff, I get really happy and excited, I get him stuff and I have fun getting it, and he just says "thanks"..and I have to pretend I can tell he really liked it! It is taxing!

I made nuttella cheesecake for all of my friends, cut into little hearts. I spared them the horrible pick-up lines this year.... ruins the effect when they're all Harry potter and most haven't read/ seen them.

She would initially be happy to get flowers then start picking them apart. Why are they all open, you know I like buds. Why did you get a vase with them, I have enough vases already. What's up with the brown edges, couldn't you find a dozen that were fresher? Those flowers you bought me didn't last very long, they should of lasted longer. If she had just smiled and said thank you, I love them she would still be getting flowers.

I worked late but when I walked in there were flowers, chocolate and and a very sweet personal card on the table. I went to take my shower right away (I work at a dairy barn) and came back out to the table set- wine, lobster, shrimp, homemade biscuits and Caesar salad. And my wonderful bf who'd been so busy cooking! After eating we settled down to watch a movie, he put on black beauty and we ate chocolate. Best Valentines ever :)
