Ugh, my sister is home from college, and I've had just about all I can take. She hasn't really gotten along with my family since about 12, she's 19 now. She is just a really hateful, critical person. We've had a lot of issues over the years, even involving the police. She has always gone out of her way to hurt people, for example she's called me fat(I'm 5'3" and 110 pounds) ugly, loser, and that I'm going nowhere in life because I'm not in college. (I'm working at a show barn pursuing a horse career) I could go on for ages about her insults. Anyway, so she bought a puppy a couple months this ago. Since she's been home she doesn't barely feed the dog or take her out. So it's up to my parents or me, cause we can't let the dog suffer. Yesterday she slept until 2pm. Um, the dog gets up at 6am. She lets her dog loose in our house and then proceeds to yell at and hit our other dogs/cars when they hiss at, run into, growl, etc at her puppy. Her dog is recovering from worms, was having diarrhea so she scoots her butt a lot, she lets the puppy go on my parents brand new couch and scoot her butt on it! Gross. She called my sister a f***ing b**** the other day because she went into her room to grab some clothes (this is when she was sleeping till 2pm). She's mean to both my younger sisters, tells my baby sister (9) that her puppy doesn't like her, that she's obsessed with her puppy, and that if she accidentally hurts her puppy she'll kill her. These things aren't said teasingly or jokingly. She goes out of her way to pick on my 16 year old sister, telling her that her clothes look awful, she has no style, and her hair looks like crap. I am just so frustrated! I want to defends sisters and pets, buty parents are in a lala land trying so hard to get along with her that they just let everything go. And she's home for two more weeks yet.. Ugh. Just needed to get a little of my chest.

That is really frustrating! The next time she sleeps in put the puppy in the room with her and leave it there, it's her responsibility! I am sure you will get some backlash for it, but it doesn't like there is much she won't be nasty about. People like that are honestly just jealous, so keep doing what you love then try not to let it get to you! Venting is always a good way to release your feelings! It always helps me, anyway! :)

Well it's your parent's house and they decide what goes on in it. Sorry your sister is being this way. Hopefully one day she will grow out of this & you two can get along. Until then, I know it sucks, but we can't pick our family, just avoid as best you can.

So your parents accept that? Are they just afraid of her or just want to keep the family in 'good spirit'?

Can you discuss with your parents how do you feel over all that?

I'm sorry. That has to be very frustrating. If nothing else, may you could think that she goes back to college soon?
