Joe...I didn't think the scenes of war were terribly violent. I thought it was more of a horse story as well. I did think it was pretty terribly acted though. The humans, not the horses. ;)

As expected, the horses were gorgeous and there was one killer, killer visual that was stunningly beautiful.

Both my hubby and I thought it was rather cheesy but still quite enjoyable.

I saw War Horse yesterday and thought it was pretty bad. Since it was directed by Spielberg I was expecting a good war movie but was disappointed. There were no good characters besides Joey, and the things that Joey did were so unrealistic it was almost comical. It was way too long and boring in my opinion.

Agreed! I went with my boyfriend and his family. His mom cried almost the entire movie haha, I had a veryyy hard time trying not to cry! I love that movie! Even my boyfriend who isn't a horse person said, "that is the best movie I've seen in years"

Everyone has their own opinion on movies and have seen different movies to compare it to. I however recommend this movie over and over again!

I looooved this film! Couldn't ask for a better performance from the horses, either. I didn't cry when I was watching it (I'm a guy... duh :P), but I sure did feel the emotions with every character and horse, and the story was gripping. I'm giving it 5 stars. =)
