We had an unexpected patient today...

I work as a medic for EMS, and today we were hosting a community BBQ. Myself, along with two of my co-workers were on call today, and at one point, I was asked to go to a neighbor's house (another co-worker) to pick up some food she had made for the event. No one was home, so when I went to pick up the food, I decided to check on the horses and the cow too, just because. The horses greeted me as usual, but the cow didn't, which I found odd since she is usually pretty friendly. I found her in the barn, looking distraught and I realized she was about to calve, so I hung around just to make sure she didn't have any trouble (she's young, a miniature, and it's her first).

Unfortunately, she did, or was starting to at least, so I called up a co-worker to come help me. Everything worked out fine, and mama and baby are doing well. It was my first time helping deliver a calf, and I gotta say, he's the cutest patient I've had so far...

Isn't he sweet? And I've just been granted the honors of naming him...No ideas yet though!

Lucky you were there, he's super cute!

You are never better than anyone. Every rider has skills they need to improve. The only one you must compare yourself with, is you.

Glad you were around to help out Mama.
The little one is adorable. Looks a lot like his/her mother.
