Weather Pics

So I though it would be a nice idea to start a thread for everyone to share their photos of what the weather has been like recently to give the people that don't live there an idea of what it is like.

Today in Shetland it has been terrible storm force winds boarding on hurricane force with rain, hail and sleet.

These pics aren't mine they are floating around facebook but are of shetland today, well the sea to give you a rough idea what the wind is like.

This is the storm we are about to get

This storm is apparently only 9 hPa higher pressure then Katrina was thankfully it is supposed to break up a bit before land fall.

Great idea... Here's Fort McMurray, we get unbelievable sunsets/sun rises thanks to all the oil sands (.... pollution!)

This is the Athabasca River...

sun rise..

Never seen the northern lights but they are very common up here in Shetland, because we are very far north and have no light or any other type of pollution it just happens to be mostly nights I go to bed early.
These photos are taken by a fantastic photographer that lives about 12 miles away from me.

And another stormy sea pic I have found.

Yes, northern lights are very common here... I live pretty far North lol! There have just been many snow clouds and haven't been able to see them much this winter... In the Summer I saw pink ones, they were gorgeous!

I know you live pretty far north but Shetland is just a little bit further north we are exactly in line with Anchorage in Alaska but we are lucky to have the gulf stream that runs just passed us to warm us up.
