Well this is a birthday I'd rather forget.

Not that I'm real thrilled about birthdays anyways, but this one definitely sucked.

1. Odie got kicked in the head (I think) Monday. Either way, it didn't get noticed until it was to late to get stitches.

2. At work, the owners wife always makes a dessert & brings it in for birthdays. I guess mine didn't count.

3. Hubby & I got in an argument.

And the real icing on the cake.....
3. I had to return my other horse to her "official" owner. (I got her for free w/ the understanding that if something happened to change my situation or she didn't work out, I'd give her back to the person I got her from).

Pretty much done with it all right now:(

That does sound like an awful, awful birthday The only thing I can think of doing that would make it a bit better? Go and buy some chocolate coated strawberries, a bottle of pink champagne and grab a girlfriend and a silly movie.

Doesn't your husband know that you're always right, but on your birthday you're especially right?? Need to retrain him, methinks - grab that whip and work him in a roundpen for a bit!

Hope Odie's head heals up quick! Is it very bad?

:) Thanks Evil, I do have some chocolate truffles my parents brought back from Alaska, LOL. I think Odie will be fine, just will have a bad scar. I posted a pic of it, but have no idea how to put the link on w/ my phone. I'm just lucky his skull isn't fractured! The vet saw the pics in FB & says it looks good all things considered

Oooh that sucks...sorry ur b-day started crummy...but you should finish it with lots of chocolate, lots of icecream and alot of hot guy movies!

Chocolate truffles are even better than chocolate-coated strawberries! My mum used to make ones with rum and vanilla, or with peppermint, and we'd eat them over winter (accompanied by hot toddies ). I hope they help cheer you up!

Good to hear the damage wasn't serious! I always freak with head injuries - and a kick is a nasty one!

I know how it feels. My gelding is retired on pasture and very happy - as he should be. But, not a day goes by that I don't miss having him here w me. I get up every morning and itemize the things I should be thankful for - which includes his deserved happiness.

Update on Odie: he's doing really well!! The cut above his eye turned out to be superficial, & the scab has already rubbed off (probably when he weasled his way out of his fly mask, lol). The big cut on his forehead has scabbed over nicely, and all swelling is gone. I'm still giving him 1 gr (?) Bute a day, cause I can only imagine his headache.
