Congratulations!!! As a girl with family in almost every branch of the military I have to thank you for all that you do and know that you really will make a difference :)

The only view I want to see is the landscape between my horse's ears <3

Sooo many bad/dirty Navy jokes I could do but congratulations! Do well in your training and enjoy it, it'll be the easiest part of your military career. Just remember never base your career off your first base, every base is different, spend money wisely and there is always time for horses! I had to wait a year but I eventually found my current friend who got me back into horses.

I am going to be a Machinist's Mate, aka an engine mechanic. My training is for about 14 weeks. I am going home around Christmas so maybe I will get to see my horse then.

I come from a Marine/Army family, so trust me..I've heard them all. :P I am going to work my ass off to try and be top of my class at A-school so I can pick my duty station and pick Virginia or somewhere where there is a lot of equestrian activity. Thanks for all of the advice.

And thanks everyone!

Glad things are going well for you. What's up with your horse Red? He still at home?

Very cool! Congratulations to you! I know how much you wanted this!

And welcome to the area. I'm about 1 hour east from Lake Michigan, about 1-1/2 hours North of Chi-Town.
