For me it was a health issue. I had an old horse, I think he was 30 something at the time. He was off his feed with no physical issues. I asked for advice and was happy with the results!

I was pretty immature when I joined. I spent a lot of time at home since I couldn't drive myself anywhere so therefore I was on the internet a lot. And thus, stumbled here. Made some people mad. Stayed. Now I have so many amazing friends here.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

Upon returning to horses, I googled many things that I had grown rusty on and HF came up a lot and usually had the best pool of info to digest.
I was also saddle searching (types and info) and found reading old posts about the saddles that I was interested in helped me quite a bit.
HF wasn’t the first online horse community I spent time looking at, but it is more user friendly… and then there are those pesky addicting carrots and oddball memebers.

Other: I was moving from the UK to Canada and searched for a forum that was North America based in order to connect into a useful store of knowledge about how "they do things over there"

Get up, get going, seize the day. Enjoy the sunshine, the rain, cloudy days, snowstorms, and thunder. Getting on your horse is always worth the effort.

I think I was hired to be one of the oddball characters to lure quality members like Lockwood to come and stay , and play , here.
Just haven't been paid yet.
