What did you bake for Christmas and the Holidays?

I thought it might be nice to share what we made!
This is the first time I made something by myself, and it was crackle cookies from scratch.
I'm pretty proud of my cookies!! :)

Overachiever!

When apples start to ripen in the fall I start making apple butter for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. I also make fudge.
Since we are a gluten family I will sometimes share some of my muffins (which are actually Very good...pumpkin molasses anyone?) with close friends, but pretty much gave up baking cookies for the masses.

I had help!

Still recovering from my knee surgery 14wks ago (only 6 months more to go... ugh) so hubby helped me a ton.

We've been married nearly 17yrs now, so we have cookie baking down pat. Goes quick with a stand mixer, spring-loaded cookie scoops, silpats and restaurant supply baking sheets.

I am a good cook and really good bbq-er, but baking isn't my thing. I just totally lack in that department.

I'm making mini cheesecakes, coconut truffles, chocolate macaroons, mini spice cake muffins, An Fearr Do Barraí Last (Cant remember what it is in English) they are sort of like chocolate coffee cake bars. Oatmeal spice cookies, and spiced Wassail.

Fudge
Rum balls
Sugar cookies, soon to be decorated.

I purchased toblerone "bars", truffles and such. All together (my own and purchased goodies) led me to an epiphany! I figured out where the tradition of giving trays of goodies to friends and family came from! After one bakes and/or purchases mounds of junk food and "taste tests" it a few times to many, it makes them kind of sick to think about it - so they give it away! ;)

There is just as much horse sense as ever, but the horses have most of it.
