Unhappy what is the farm bill?

What is this farm bill obama keeps talking about and how paul ryan is denying it from being passed??

Is this bill even worth the paper its written on or would it actually make a difference to farmers with the bad economy?

Please fill me in as I don't think I have heard of this bill yet?

It's too complicated to try and explain it in depth. It covers many areas of agriculture.

It's not something that the President can veto, as it's up to Congress to update the Farm Bill roughly every 5 years. The changes/updates made will go into effect in 2013.

I'm not sure which area of the Farm Bill Mr. Ryan is upset about, but neither he nor the President have the power to veto it.

I honestly don't know a whole lot about the regular Farm Bill, but I think what you're actually referring to is that Obama wants Congress to enact an emergency Farm Bill that will give aid to farmers in drought stricken areas.

I don't think it's a rider on the Farm Bill that they're reviewing and revising right now, I believe it's separate thing.

.

It seems for some reason Food Stamps are tied in with the Farm Bill and that is the latest problem with getting the thing renewed, food stamps expenditures per capita are at their highest levels since during the great depression.

I am doing some reading on it now, I think Congress is trying to get some emergency drought relief measures in place before the deadline at years end for the 5 year renewal.

It is just another of Obama's lies...he has become the worst lier I can recall.

Obama supports a big ticket farm bill (no surprise there). Ryan supported and helped pass a smaller farm bill in the House. The fact is the farm bill is being held up by the Democrats in the Senate.

It has gotten so bad every time Obama moves his lips he lies...what a disgrace...
