Sounds like we all had a good Christmas! The only thing missing from ours was my Other Brother Darrell! (He's in San Diego for the week. His son lives there.) I don't know what kind of weather they are having there, but he missed all the ice!! I'll pick him up from the airport Tuesday night...
Our day was spent at brother RJ's. (just a mile down the road!) We had a family gift exchange, and GUESS who had my name! (My Other Brother) He gave me a set of brown insulated saddle bags! I couldn't BELIEVE it!! First...they had me this HUGE beautiful package, and from there it just kept getting better!! These are exactly what I would have picked!!
I think you all know Santa came early here, and I got a new-to-me 2 horse slant-load. So..my other 2 horse ramp trailer's for sale!
I've certainly had a 'horsie Christmas!' Then we had a 'sonata' from my Mom with her harmonica!! (I just love this.) Of course, it's all the songs SHE likes, (and a lot of us hadn't heard before)...and a lot of the grandkids didn't even*know* she played! So...it was magic. When we got there, a 'skinhead' gave me a huge hug! I had to back up to see who had me, and it was our GRANDSON!!! (I was expecting a tall blond!) The grand daughter's hair is now purple. I guess you can tell...you never know.... The Grandson's going into the Navy (he thinks September) and he said they'd be shaving it all off anyway...so he just got ahead of them. He did say tho, that it's 'cold.' We all ate too much. Today it's 50 degrees, and FOGGY! (You can just see it rolling in...) It just started to rain again, too.
I spent the morning cleaning out stalls. Move the 2 of them over to the East pasture while I did that. Got rid of all of the nasty mulch and put fresh down....filled the hay sacks. Everything is ready to go for this evening's dinner. The manure pile keeps growing.....and steaming...
Tonight, WE are having meatloaf! All of the yummy leftovers stayed at my brother's house...
Moomoo, didn't realize we shared a birthday! Happy Birthday to a fellow Christmas Eve baby! I hope all of you had a WONDERFUL holiday season. I spent all of my money on my kids, but was so thrilled to see my 5 year old daughter's reaction when she opened a present from santa and found her brand new field boots! First pair! Yay. She ran around the house in field boots and underpants for about 2 hours, lol. My friend gave me her old saddle, and I couldn't be happier, since I lost all of my riding stuff when my house was set on fire 2 years ago. It's a Crosby Prix de Nations, and it's WONDERFUL!!!!
-an In Sink Erator garbage disposal from my hubby (not romantic but it was exactly what I wanted) and a bag of Jelly Bellies that he ate himself. He still has to install the garbage disposal so I am not sure if it is a true sucess yet.
