Me too! I can't read their body language and their eyes are creepy.
I went to feed larakeets at the zoo to 'overcome my fear'....bad idea.

My own chickens can set me running! Especially when they jump up to get horse/dog treats out of my pockets.
My hens even try to get in my truck with me.
Super scary chickens.
And, they are always there when I pick out my mares hooves...so annoying.

Heights....I just can't stand heights.

My girls had a fieldtrip last tuesday to a swinging bridge over a canyon that was higher than the STatue of Liberty. I went a quarter way across this bouncing...swinging contraption and then I lost it. Heartrate went through the roof, my legs got week, stripped of my jacket becuase I was sweating profusely, and every other symptom that comes with fear and the thoughts.....I"M GONNA DIE!!!...were very strong.

But....get me into a helicopter or airliner....I do fine.

Spiders.....is another 'high' fear thing I have.
Drowning and being eaten alive by some ferocious predator.

Some years ago I was asked to take part in an ongoing psychological test. One of the questions was 'What are you afraid of?"

I had to think long and hard about this and the only truthful answer I could come up with was "Fear."

This is true. I dislike rats (wild ones) but love to go rat hunting. I do not like insecure heights but will make myself go up a fully extended ladder that is not tied at the top.

I hate the idea that fear will stop me doing something so will rationalise it in my head and get on with it.

I never really liked birds much but it is easy to read their body language. I made myself get over it by handling several wild parrots.

I think that it all stems from when I was about 4 years old. It was early evening (I know this because I was still up!) Mummy needed to get something from the corner shop, a distance of about 500 yards away. Mum would never normally leave me and my baby sister alone so, it had to be something urgent. She asked if I would be OK and I assured her I would.
Mum was gone for ages. Then there was a rattling at the backdoor, no one could get to the door as it was an enclosed garden.
I wrapped my sister in a blanket and fled the house running to the shop.
I met Mum as she was running out the shop. She hadn't even paid for whatever it was she needed.
Of course she felt terrible and knew she should never have left me. She explained that running with my baby sister could have been very dangerous as if I had fallen I might have hurt her.
We went home regaining our breath. The rattling was still at the backdoor and I immediately knew that it was the cat wanting to come in.

I remember thinking that I should always investigate before running which, I have done. Not just because of this incident but also because I have never been able to run fast enough!

I'm struggling with the rats this at the moment, its that time of year that the dirty little monsters are darn near sitting on the roadsides waving as we drive by. They are EVERYWHERE.

Bees/wasps/anything that buzzes by me quickly and I'm turned into a hysterical child.

Heights... *shudder*. No thanks. I'm 5'1 for a reason! :)

Fish in the supermarket. And anything with claws like crabs or lobsters.. even if their dead i KNOW that those claws are gonna get me!

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

Snakes, hate snakes, especially the rattlesnakes we hav around here. I go hunting for the little demons every summer. Spiders aren't bad but I don't particularly like them either.

Used to have a phobia of the dentist. It's gotten a little better but I still have to take Ativan before I go to chill me out. I hate the X rays most, I hate having to stick that thing in my mouth. It hurts! Funny enough though the only thing I'm not afraid of there is the novocaine needle. Not afraid of any other shots either...Wierd.

Also I fear my own nightmares. I have nightmares that my horses are breaking their legs, going into shock, panicking and hurting themselves, etc.

Pssh.I didn't pick up the wrong lead
It's called a counter canter...
...A very advanced maneuver.

Sharks, oh my god. After I watchd Soul Surfer, I was sleeping in my sister's room. I would wake up in the middle of the night seeing the glare of water on the walls, I'd hear it swishing, and I would see fins sticking up. I had terrifying dreams that I was surfing and all of a sudden I was drug down by a shark. This went on for about a month, but I still have those dreams sometimes. If I ever live next to the ocean, I refuse to go into the water. I can watch videos of them, and will be terrified-even pictures make me scared. It's an awful fear.

I have a phobia of snakes can't stand them i freak out so bad. I use to be fine but after a series of events that included snake bites I went into freak out drive and now there the only thing that makes me scream and run away crying (figuratively). I can't even watch movies with snakes in it... well I can I just close my eyes and cover my ears and tuck myself up next to the closest person (usually my boyfriend or best friends) And to top it all off guess where I live.... yep Australia where snakes are like rabbits... everywhere!!!!!!!

First off..while I'm not scared until it actually happens, I've fallen backwards and stumbled into a wall after the air thing at the eye doctors...horrid things they are.

Now..I have an extreme phobia of elevators..Extreme, I tell you! I can go up to 5 floors without sliding down the wall and having a panic attack. Take me a floor or two and I can just barely handle it and jump out after White-knuckling it the whole ride..but no more than that..I'll walk up 20 flights of stairs with a broken ankle. o.o
