Where to find discounted broadway tickets?

Is it better to go into NY and then buy the tickets to the show at the hotel or at the theatre? Someone said if you wait until the day of you can get them really cheap?

I get my Nats tickets on stubhub and can usually get really awesome seats right on the first baseline for a great price but the broadway tickets look like they are the same price as if you buy them from broadway.com. Someone said to get them at a place but I can't remember where they said...?

Yes, if you wait to the day of you can get them cheaper. Problem is if its sold out, its sold old. I believe the place is in time square.

TKTS has a place in Times Square and a couple other locations. They sell tickets the day of the show pretty cheap. They have a smartphone app you can download. I also found this webpage about them:http://www.tdf.org/TDF_ServicePage.aspx?id=56

Every one of my friends who was gone to NY has bought the tickets for their MUST SEE shows ahead of time as a just in case and then when they have free time they look for discounted tickets for the other shows they're interested in seeing.

I have seen the tckts booths. They say that they seats are fairly decent? I bought my tickets for Spiderman turn off the dark ahead of time a couple years ago but this time I was wondering if I could get away with seeing 2 shows. I'd like to see Cinderella and then maybe Wicked? But Aladdin is also playing... If I could get really cheap tickets (or at least half price) I could see at least 2 shows.

We are only going to be there for a few days. I'm so worried if I don't buy them in advance I won't get one but then if I do then I'll pay full price...

I don't think Cinderella is one of the more popular ones but Wicked I think might be....

Wicked is definitely one of the ones you want to buy ahead for, I think. None of my friends have been able to get in at least. But if you have a couple shows you want to see it could totally be worth it to wait and see what they have, the seats wont be AMAZING but they're usually not terrible either.

The Lion King is a hard one to get into though isn't it?
