Default Who else has a holiday obsession?

I love this time of year because it's got my 3 favorite holidays plus my birthday. If only it were warm this time of year, then everything would be perfect :) Anyway I absolutly LOVE Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I also love decorating for things.

It started many years ago with Christmas. I've always loved Christmas, the music, the presents, the feeling of that time of year... everything. I don't know how it started. We always just used to have a few lights out and a wreath on the door. Then my mom started buying more lights... Now we add to our giant collection of decorations every year. I'm sure our electric bill is insane. The lights in the house will ramdomly go out because we blew a fuse... again. It's insane.

Our house doesn't get much action on Holloween. We have a long driveway, and you know how it is when you're trick-or-treating. Long driveway = not really worth the effort for a piece of candy. So we would get 2 or 3 groups of kids early in the evening and that would be it. Last year I decided that if we had some awesome decorations we might get more poeple to come to the house. Because awesome creepy decorations will always attract poeple on Holloween. Even if your driveway is massive. So I decided to test this theory. I convinced my mom to go look at Halloween decorations and buy some. Up til that point we only had a few happy looking, wood cut-out decorations. She said if I was right and we got more people, then we would go shopping for more decorations after Halloween (because everything is atleast half off after the holiday is over). We got at least 8 groups of people last year and everyone said they loved the decorations. So after Halloween last year, we went shopping and bought a lot of stuff. No where near as much as we have for Christmas but still quite a bit of stuff. I have been waiting so long for it to finally be time for the Halloween decorations to go up and now it's time and I'm sooooo excited!!!

So does anyone else go nuts when it's time to decorate for holidays or is it just me?

No its not just you, I have always loved Halloween. We used to live in the "burbs" with tons of kids. I loved decorating the house and yard. Playing spooky music and dressing up to give out treats. Now we live in the boonies and we get no kids at all I still put out my pumpkin though.
We too have a long drive, gate, dogs and no other house for about a mile. No adventurous trick or treaters yet, your lucky.

I like holidays too. Unluckily we haven't actual Halloween here (even some people decorate for it and seem to spend it somehow.. I think it's somehow semi-official over here) and no Thanksgiving at all. Just an Independence Day and then Xmas. But luckily we have our Walpurgi's Night/Labor Day in the spring and Midsummer in the summer.

Anyway.. I love those cute Christmas decorations that you can pick up from a box and hang up the Christmas tree... And all those Christmas lights that enlighten dark December nights.

For Walpurgi's Night/Labor Day we tend to decorate our houses with streamers and balloons. Few years ago I decorated whole the ceiling of my room with streamers. I hope I'd have taken a pic from it.

I really enjoy Christmas, when I feel it's not too soon, so around late November I really enjoy all the pretty lights, especially since we get very little daylight during the winter here.

But we have neither Halloween nor Thanksgiving here, and no other holidays really. Although we do have 4 "ašventu"-Sundays, the 4 before Christmas when we bake cakes and light candles

I absolutely LOVE this time of year. My family goes crazy with the decorations too. Even though I'm too old to go trick or treating I still dress up and sit on my front porch with my dad and pass out candy.
At Christmas every body calls us the Griswalds (or however you spell it) from Christmas vacation. We go nuts with lights. I don't even want to know what the power bill for our house is. Oh and the Christmas music. So calming and relaxing. Christmas is a whole other world for me.

Wow. I wish I was allowed to get my Christmas decorations out that early. My sister gets mad if poeple go straight to Christmas right after Halloween. I keep telling her there's no decorations for Thanksgiving!!!

Fall is my favorite! I love decorating the house and getting ready for all the holidays. Although, after New Year's I'm usually exhausted!

It seems the summer months always turns out to be the boring time of the year. Fall and winter are full with the holidays and new years and the spring time has my birthday as well as my honeys. After the birthdays tho, there isn't much going on it seems.

I think we should invent a new holiday right before the summer(and no easter doesn't count).
