I think we should invent a new holiday right before the summer(and no easter doesn't count).
My2Geldings, do what I do. Don and I have a huge Luau complete with decorations and invite all our friends and co-workers.

Music, decorations, food, drink and appropriate apparel make it something to look forward to and plan for.

We also do an Oktoberfest complete with German foods and beer (Don brews his own). We use anything for an excuse to get friends/family together for a good time.

This winter, after the holidays, Don and I will be getting together with 3 other couples to do progressive dinners. Anything to get through the winter and see friends.

So, yeah, I guess I do have a holiday obsession, but I don't limit it to just holidays! The more the merrier!

sugar cookies are fun to make. You can do so much with them even for the holidays. Glad you enjoyed them

Unfortunatly I have issues with baking cookies. I can cook/bake just about anything under the sun, but with cookies I fail. I can't even make the ones where they give you the dough and you just have to put it on a pan and bake it!! It's very sad :( I hope yours tasted as good as they look!

On a side note, the weather has been especially crapy this past week and I haven't been able to go out and finish my decorating :(

Oh god are those sugar cookies. Keep me away.

I have, like, a monster obsession with Halloween (no pun intended). I make my own props and practically plan for it all year. This time we are throwing the largest open house thingie/bash yet. I just love everything about the holiday and the autumnal season in general...

Walkamile, we do an Oktoberfest-type celebration too. :) Yet it's only around fall that my cousin's homemade sauerkraut is finally dispersed and the apples are ripe for dicing and tossing in...along with brauts and lots of other good stuff. More like an Oktoberfest that is several months long. ;)

We have a Christmas snowman!! He's one of my favorites that we have. We get Christmas decorations at all times of the year. The shopping networks on TV will do "Christmas in July" sales and my mom loves Christmas decorations and Shopping on TV so it will be the middle of the summer and we'll be getting all these Christmas things. We then, of course, have to take them out of their boxes and put them together to make sure all the parts are there and everything works. This past summer, at my request, she bought a bunch of penguin decorations. They are the cutest things I've ever seen and I can't wait to get them out!!

^^ I have an electronic snowman plushie which plays a Christmas song... Saw it at a store in our neigbor city in the last year and couldn't resist the temptation of buying him. The little fella obviously needed a loving home .
