Now you cannot get a cup of coffee anywhere that doesn't have "CAUTION: CONTENTS MAY BE HOT" printed on it everywhere.
I personally thought that was the STUPIDEST lawsuit ever. Now just wait someone is going to be drinking/eating something cold like a frappe or smoothie, get a brain freeze and crash their car. Maybe we should warn everyone to put on their cups.... CAUTION: CONTENTS MAY BE COLD. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU LACK OF COMMON SENSE

Oh yeah. Even on things that you buy empty at the store like a thermos or insulated mug have to have it printed on there. Like I wouldn't know that the hot coffee I put in there this morning might burn me LOL.

There was a comedian a few years back that did a bit on the warnings on normal items - commenting on the fact someone must have been stupid enough to DO it to have need for the warnings in the first place.....can't remember who it was, might have been Foxworthy. But my favorite was about the sunshades for car windshields - and the big warnings that say "DO NOT OPERATE VEHICLE WHILE SHADE IS IN USE"

    I mean......seriously?

Heres one for ya..have you seen the bottles of teeth whiter? It states on the bottle..NOT FOR WHITENING EYES.

Wonder what genius was the cause of them having to add that to the warning label.

From what I understand there is quite a bit more to the burnt lap from McDonalds coffee incident than meets the eye. So, I do not think that one is a good example of an actual frivolous law suit. (Though I admit it does sound silly but I guess the coffee was excessively hot, not just hot.)

I always thought the burnt labels came from that episode of Seinfeld and all the companys jumped on it to protect themselves from a cheeky monkey wanting to steal the idea and make themselves some money.

Talking about stupid lawsuits in general, here's a list of them if someone wants to read more about people's stupidity.
