x-box vs Playstation 3

This would be for my husband and my seven year old to share. I'm not a game person. We have the playstation 2 and the Wii, and the gamecube. Which would be the best next step?

Xbox 360 all the way.
Ps3 does not have as good a selection of kid friendly games as the Xbox 360. Also, the Ps3 is more expensive for half the selection of games. For every 3 kid friendly games on the Xbox 360, there is 1 kid friendly game for the Ps3.

I'm a self-proclaimed video game nerd and I'd say Xbox 360 all the way. I have both and Xbox 360 is far superior to the PS3. Lot's better selection of games, etc. And I find it more compatible with my PC. Plus you can get Xbox Live which is great!

You have to look at who the main gamer is going to play. Each gaming system is targetted towards a specific age group, so thats what you have to look at to decide what you want to get. I just recently bought the new PS3 and it turned(thank god it wasnt meant for me), that there were absolutely no games that I was interested in. The xbox was the same issue, tho they have more options for my kind of gaming.

Take a look at the games available for each and decide.

I'm a huge fan of the xbox 360 I think it has a wider variety of games and the online stuff is fun if you use it (you don't have to). I'm not a big fan of playstations in general though

Looks like the Xbox is winning. I talked to the guy at Walmart tonight and he is an xbox person as well. What about the Kinect thing? Wait a few months before getting it? I'm not sure who will play thing more, Max or Ellis. I have to say, they both seem to play the PS2 about the same amount. In fact, they fight over it all the time while the poor little wii sits in the bedroom collecting dust. I think I'm going to ask for the wii fit for Christmas and then that can be my game! They also seem to like the same games which are "shoot em up" games that I can't stand myself....

I have demo-ed Kinect, and it is incredible. Not all games can use it however, the selection is quite small as it just came out, but from the looks of it, what games it can use, they are family friendly. No controllers needed and able to use multiple people at a time all via a camera/motion sensor. I would suggest waiting a few months as for getting the Kinect(unless you get a Xbox 360/Kinect Bundle, which I do believe they carry at Walmart), as it should drop from the release price in the next few months.

I am an Xboxer - I play alot of COD *Call Of Duty* and right now on Black Op's as I speak, playing with my Husband's and my Clan.

My Husband is a bigger gamer than me, and he has a MASSIVE selection of games.

My Husband's best friend has the Kinect, and we played with it over Thanksgiving, and it is a blast. I did alot of the Dance Central game, it's alot of fun!

I definately vote for Xbox360 :)
