~ Totally random question...

I've never had my contacts bother me because of dirt, dust or anything else and I definitely don't feel them when they're in me eyes. The worst thing that has happened to me was that it fell out once, I think I put it on backwards. But that has only happened once and I've been wearing them for about 5 years now.

I do. It isn't easy.

Haha, sorry flamingauburnmustang... I've never gotten along with contacts and that crazy piece of plastic decided to take revenge on me for not using it for like a month. Mine were only for horse riding so they were fairly cheap but built to last. Besides, I'm a wimp. The majority of people here probably wouldn't have screamed and began taking to their eyeballs with their fingernails =P Don't change what you do because a contact lense wanted to take me down LOL.

I'm basically half blind in one eye and almost as terrible in the other - I'm nearsighted to the extreme. But I've never been able to wear glasses of any kind. Sunglasses make my head hurt and regular glasses just irritate me. Plus, I find that they skew my vision and depth perception anyway since the lens isn't right on my eye (like looking through a magnifying glass), and my peripheral vision is basically nonexistant. I only wear them for watching movies and seeing the board at school sometimes, but never when I'm riding. Most of me knowing where I'm am in the arena and in general is just spatial awareness.
My eyes don't get bothered easily and I've got an eye appointment next week where I'll hopefully get contacts. I think my vision changed after my concussion, anyway.

My theory - if can deal with a mascara brush poking your eye and putting eyeliner on your waterline, you can deal with contacts!

Like most of the others, I ride in contacts. I've had some horror stories with losing my glasses, and they don't even involve riding, so I'd rather not take the risk. My eyes are -7.50, so I'm virtually blind without contacts. I agree, though, the worst part for wearing contacts is grooming, especially when they've been rolling in the dirt (which is always) and you've got dust and hay flying everywhere. Though, I guess we shouldn't complain - without contacts there's no way I could ride, so I'm grateful :)

LOL. Don't worry, it's fine. It would have to take a personal horror experience to stop me from wearing contacts. They are just so much easier and they help. I won't be changing anytime soon.
