To All You Book Lovers Out There.....

I just made this tonight, out of Nelson's tail. I just got a new book and wanted to buy a book marker for it, but they were either too silly, too expensive or too "not me"....

So my MIL came up with the idea, to make one of my own, out of my beads...then two and two were put together, and I thought "What a great idea to make one out of Nelson's tail, and my beads as a momento"

Just something I wanted to have as a keepsake, that belongs to my beloved Nelson...

This is what I came up with:

Oh no - nothing happened to him at all. I just wanted to make a book mark out of a part of something that I cherrish so much.

I think you should offer these for sale as well as your browbands! People could send you some of thier horse's hair and you could have them pick the color of beads. I would gladly spend $15-20 for one if I wanted one.

Hmmmm, maybe. I don't know if they are "sellable" worthy though. You really think so? I would make them for people who personally ask, but I don't know if I'd advertise them for sale? Thank you for your vote of confidence though!

Thanks Benny! I think the one I just made is a bit thick, not bad though - you could make your own thinner absolutely, you probobly wouldn't need as much hair as I used. I'm looking at it in my book right now, and you can definitely tell it is in there, unlike the common book marks you buy from book stores and such that are paper thin.

Well, my Hubby gave me a good idea - he said to add a strand of ribbon, so that the braided hair piece can lay on the outside of the book, and the ribbon can be the book mark.

I thought that was a great idea, I'll have to try that.
