    Any cosplayers here?

I am a MASSIVE nerd and just wanted to see if anyone here is as nerdy as me! Share your cosplay in this thread

This is something I've thrown together for a big event I have coming up. It's not 100% accurate, but I feel it's close enough [especially since it's a genderbend] and I can't really do better for the money I'm able to spend. Does anyone recognize the character?

Ah, not sure which # Dr. But the one Matt Smith plays I believe? (10th or 11th?) I like it!

I'm just getting back into cosplay... My boyfriend and I are working on Yoko and Kamina from Gurren Lagann for Fanime at the end of the month, possibly Black Rose and Crim and Raven and Beast Boy for Anime Expo in July. I'll see if I can find some older photos to post once I can get to my laptop (at the very least I have 2013 Lara Croft from last year which was BOMB for having been put together in 2 days!) but I have some much older ones as well that were really awesome. My mom probably has some old photos still...

    Whoops. My nerd is showing!

This is a thread for nerds, you can let it show as much as you like

Yes, Matt Smith's 11th Doctor, the sonic screwdriver was a gift from my OH and the shoes were a gift from his mum but the rest is [mostly] thrift shop discoveries. I splurged on the shirt because I'll use it for horses too!

I have a few characters I want to do and another one that I really REALLY want to genderbend but for now I want to make my Fem!11 cosplay perfect before I go spending money on different ones. My ultimate cosplay would be a really top quality Ruby Rose from RWBY, her dress is GORGEOUS and I want it haha. I'm really not girly most of the time but oh god when it comes to that type of dress just try and stop me! I want to genderbend Alucard, proper Alucard I mean with the red coat and the hat not Girlycard, and I want to cosplay Jinx from League of Legends at some point because why not embrace my lack of chest! [and it's an excuse to act completely batcrap crazy haha]

Ah, thrift shop discoveries are the best for cosplay! Or Forever 21 (if you have those there?), because they have so much stuff that you can find relatively any starter pieces you need, and cheap! The bikini top I'm altering cost less than $5 and it's pretty decent quality, too.

Also looked up Ruby Rose. That one would be super cute!!! I hope you get to someday. Do you sew at all?

We don't have Forever 21 but we do have a lot of stores where there are cheap clothes that are decent quality - I just don't usually go into clothing stores lol!

I don't sew, I suck at it haha and I just know if I try to do too much I'll end up sewing my fingers to my fabric - I'm constantly hurting myself, I work with food and it's a rare day that I don't leave work with a new burn on my hands or arms!

NOT ME--but my DD's have been cosplaying for some 15 years now. They're headed to Chicago in 10 days to ACEN and they've all been to DragonCON, and about 3 others--don't remember which. DD's are going as Bill and Ted (From "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure".)

I nearly went to ComiCon this year, but circumstances got in the way [I was sick and OH was working]. I'm going to this thing called SupaNova next month which is going to be amazing, my favourite author will be there [ROBIN HOBB -runs around fangirling- I CAN GET MY BOOKS SIGNED] and one of my favourite ever actors [John Barrowman I THINK YES] and his adorable husband and probably others too. I'm going to get so starstruck! But the best part of cosplaying as the 11th Doctor is that it's okay to be an awkward goof, because that's what we love best about Matt Smith

Aww, bummer that you don't sew! My mom sews for a living (not clothes anymore, but she used to do theater costumes and made all of her fancy dresses and stuff throughout school and beyond) so I got the inside scoop growing up. She was always quite supportive of my costuming, as long as she deemed it appropriate. Naturally we argued on that a lot, and now that I'm out of the house it's moot anyway!
