That's okay, Endiku. Fan fiction isn't for everyone...just like poetry isn't for everyone. We had to write some poetry for my creative writing class I took a couple of years ago and I sucked it up big time.

Great thread guys! Thought I'd mention a neat site that might interest you writers out there (as am I). It's called kickstarter, and is basically publicly pitched and funded ideas...great way to bring the power to start great projects back to the creators hands.

Also, blogging, for me has been a great way to refine and enhance my writing as it is immediate feedback. Currently I do a blog on equine therapy that is hosted on Sponsored Listings.

    Best to all,

    Jackie's Pony Secret

I've just put my first "pony" book on Amazon. I've had a lot of people read it, nearly universally enjoyed but couldn't get anywhere with publishers or agents, despite planning five books inthe series. Why is it that publishers are only interested in established show business names, who almost certainly don't write their own books, "misery" publications and autobiographies. What on earth happened to good, honest pony adventure stories!

I enjoy writing and am currently just writing a weekly article on my friend's blog, Half Past Wonderful. My little section is called Rounder, and I'm running a little behind on it since I got caught up with the USDF regionals. :P

I am planning on doing NaNoWriMo this year and am in the process of brainstorming for plots. I've done it for the three previous years and won twice. My first two were part of a series called LYLAS which was about a group of five girls in highschool and explored their friendship. The girls were roughly based off of me and my friends so it was a fun write! Last year I wrote journal entries as written by the horses in my life, describing my horse history from their point of view.

I don't write much fanfiction, as I mostly make up my own stories. I tend to write animal stories or young adult stories. I've done a little poetry and a little song/lyrics, but animals/YA are my niche. I definitely want to try something a little different this year for NaNo.

It's nice to see some other writers here!

Sorry, you can see I am a complete novice (read idiot) at this. The link I uploaded obviously didn't get there somehow! So I think we'll have to do this the long way round. If you go to Amazon > Kindle > ebooks > children's and then put my name in it should come up.

I really want to do NaNoWriMo this year. I failed epically at it last year, though. Lol However, my (valid) excuse last year was that I was working full-time (just got my job at the beginning of November last year) and I was teaching a 6am class four days a week, so it left little time for anything extracurricular. My problem this year is that I don't have any new ideas that I haven't already started working on. Maybe I'll try something horse-related for a change...

I have enjoyed writing for years. I mainly write poems, but I'm trying my hand at a novel and even short stories. I'm hoping to get a short story or novel that turns out pretty good. I have though about taking some creative writing classes in college.

I really thought I wouldn't be able to finish NaNo last year with me doing this full time internship, but I typed all through my lunch break, for a couple hours before I went to sleep and like crazy on my one day off a week and I made it!

It's neat to see so many people that like writing!

I have been writing since I was 6 or 7. I have a bunch of the little 15-20 page books that I wrote on paper and stapled together when I was a kid. Whenever I get famous, I'ma sell them for a fortune Jokes.

I really like reading fantasy, and I really like writing it. I like trying to do the complete opposite of what "normal" fantasy is, completely doing a 180 and going the opposite direction...but then, the farther away from the norm you get, the harder it is for your readers to understand, so I try to find a happy medium.

I'm really big into world building. I hate when there's no history or depth of culture in fantasy books, and I am still building the world I hope to set my books in (been working on it a couple years now).

Hopefully someday we'll all get published. Happy writing, everyone
