At one time I was pretty good on the French Horn and mellophone. Really loved hearing/playing Christmas songs played on the French Horn.

Piano and, er, . . . Bagpipes. Grandad was very proud of his Hebridean roots (he was a MacLeod from the Isle of Lewis). When I was about 8, he presented me with my own set of bagpipes. There was no-one in the area who could give me lessons, so I'm completely self-taught. Mother never did forgive Grandad . . . .

Guitar, piano, recorder, bodhran (Irish frame drum) and celtic harp.

Sometimes I wrestle with my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.

Missing star, bag pipes don't sound bad to me! Lol I've always had a thing for instruments/styles from the UK for some reason. Harp is one thing I'd like to learn even though I think I'd be horrible at it!

It could have been revenge for all the noise she made when she was a kid. I think I'll give bagpipes to my grandchildren some day.

Seriously, that is awesome that you could figure it out yourself. It looks like it would be complicated to play bagpipes.

Currently I play mountain dulcimer with a group. I don't play my piano much anymore, but really ought to get back to doing so. I never really had lessons (regretfully), just got some books of music I liked and drilled away until the tunes sounded recognizable. I used to do handbells.

MissingStar- my hubby's family had origins on the Isle of Yuist. His mother always claimed they were a bunch of sheep stealers.
