Oh marching band...
However, it would appear that almost every other state but North Dakota has marching competitions. My high school did a legitimate show once a year..for homecoming. We only marching in a parade like twice a year.
I'm also a flutist. I taught myself trumpet, but in marching bands, flutes are pathetic. If you plucked one flute player and told them to play while moving, it would be ATROCIOUS. I was first chair last year for concert band, but if you pulled me aside and told me to play pep band while moving..yeah. It would sound like you handed someone who didn't even know how to hold a flute. Especially if it's windy. The wind blows your breath back and no noise comes out.
I am a lovely concert flutist though.
Haha. Concert band is much more fun if you play the flute..or piccolo.
